"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!

I was looking through some Web Interfaces the other day and a saw a number of comments regarding whether the artist was able to code HTML, or if they were just saving images of layouts from photoshop. All of my layouts and interfaces are screen shots in browser and I completely code all of my works with Notepad. There, I feel a little better now.
